Link Building Software - 5 Recommended Tools To Build Links
By now you might be ready to lay down on your bed and pull the covers over your head - I've covered a number of ways to get backlinks and you might be wondering if the twenty-four hours in a day are enough to get all these links.
Well - don't worry about getting every single type of link - the last thing I want to do is make you feel overwhelmed. My intent is to energize you and make you realize you have a lot of opportunities for backlinks.
BUT - it is a lot of work - if you do it all manually. You can get much more done using software and services, but before I get to that...there is one tool that is a must-have for anyone making money online and trying to rank well.
Why You Need an Article Spinner
To put it simply - most of your backlinks, with few exceptions, will come from written content. Why settle for 1 article when it can become 500 or 1,000? If you don't know what an article spinner is, it's a piece of software that you use to add synonyms to an article.
Usually it's in the form of:
{Here is the original sentence.|Here is version two of the same phrase.|This is the third variation of the sentence.}
When the spinner "spins" that, it will take one of the three versions. Typically you would want to spin down to the word, at least every 4th word:
The benefit of doing this is that you will write less and get more work done - and generate more backlinks with less effort. The other benefit is that spinning creates unique variations of your content. That means that the search engines will "see" not one article 1,000 places - because you cut and pasted the same one - but a thousand.
If you spin your articles right, you will get human traffic as well as the SEO benefit.
Do I personally know this works? Yes.
Or is this just some sales pitch? No - but of course the owner of the blog, Matthew, gets a commission if you buy using these links. Like you, he's online to make a profit. He asked me for my recommendations and I stand behind these products fully.
Article spinning works, hands down - and I spin articles to get both the backlinks and human traffic. Doing this has helped me take what little time I have and use it to outrank my competition. I know many don't agree with it - but if you put in the effort, spinning your articles right doesn't generate what I call "Chumtent," or "Chum + Content."
I don't do garbage articles, and don't recommend you do, either (that's your call, I don't do that).
The Best Spinner
With all of that preamble, I have used a few spinners on the market - and the top spinners are The Best Spinner and Magic Article Rewriter. (My testimonial is on The Best Spinner homepage.)
Magic Article Rewriter is cheaper (around $50), but The Best Spinner is available for a $7 trial for your first week. Personally, I realize that The Best Spinner is the better program in terms of pure performance and features - but my anti-virus caused some issues, so I went back to MAR.
Whichever you decide to go with, these are the top in the industry, make no mistake.
Once you have a spinner, it's time to use it.
One thing you could do is spin and then manually submit your articles to multiple article directories and Web 2.0 sites like Zimbio, Tumblr, Blogger, HubPages and Squidoo, etc. This is time-consuming, it's better to put the spinner to use by coupling it with a mass submission service or software.
Why generate hundreds of articles only to have to submit them one by one?
Submit the Original Article to EzineArticles
Do that before you spin it - that way you can harness the best article directory with your best foot forward in terms of content. Then...
Submit the Rest to the Top Article Directories Once Spun
When you spin your articles, take your time and spin them well enough that they aren't gibberish - it's not hard to do.
Use Article Ranks
What's ArticleRanks? This is a semi-private network of blogs owned by members who have asked for free content to their blogs. These are blogs on different C-Class IP addresses, with various PageRank.
What happens is that you can submit your spun content to their network, and ArticleRanks will allow you to have 3 links in the content of the post. These are higher value for SEO purposes - the higher up in the body of the article (called "proximity") and more relevant your links, the better.
ArticleRanks also has a built-in spinner, so you don't "have to" get your own spinner if you don't want to - but you should in my opinion since their spinner isn't nearly as fast as TBS or MAR. The other great thing about ArticleRanks is that they have recently begun bookmarking your articles for you - this gets them indexed.
Furthermore - they track your submissions, which is really nice. They're one of the most hands-off systems for content syndication I know of, and couldn't recommend them enough.
They have 3 payment methods, from a free method, to a pay-as-you-go ($2 an article currently, $10 minimum), and as I write this - they are $39 a month for unlimited submissions. Here's the catch: they are increasing their prices to...I have no idea what - probably $47 or $67 a month - come 10/31/2010.
Which means: the time to get in is today (not to sound salesey - I hate that - but it was announced back in September and the date is late October as I'm composing this piece). I'll follow up with a comparison of other networks (many work, there are 4 that stink), so stay tuned - but ArticleRanks is my #1 choice of these services at the moment.
Article Marketing Robot
This is a newer tool that, unlike ArticleRanks, is a desk top submitter. In the next post I'll do more competitive analysis on this tool and show you how it stacks against the crowd, but Article Marketing Robot is my favorite pure article directory submitter.
Try Article Marketing Robot 5 Day Trial
It signs up for accounts for you in minutes, setting you up with unique accounts to over 1500 article directories (not blogs). Included, in case you're wondering, are EzineArticles, GoArticles and ArticlesBase (although of these three, I have only been able to submit to ArticlesBase and other high PR directories).
There is a lot of user control under the hood - and AMR also has a spinner feature. I don't currently like the spinner, but over time it will grow with you - the reason is that it won't replace anything for you until you begin using it and add your synonyms.
I bought it for the article submission - and it works like a champ. You can schedule submissions, pick directories according to PR, and it will capture your live submissions (called "live links") - these are the URLs of your articles once they're "live."
You can later take that list and ping it, or submit it as an RSS feed (these are advanced techniques - you don't have to do all of that if you don't want). The speed of submission is quick - but I'd recommend you don't "bomb" a site (I do that only on older sites, where I think the risk of getting a slap by Google is minimal - if a website is new, don't do it all at once).
The articles can be submitted spun or un-spun, I'd recommend you take your time and use your other spinner for this, spin well, and then use the scheduler. Why would you use AMR if you have an ArticleRanks membership? Simple: AR uses blogs, AMR uses article directories. They're two different sources of links.
You can try AMR yourself for free for five days here.
Besides article and blog links - you should consider other sources, such as social bookmarks. For that, there is hardly any tool or service that beats:
SocialAdr
Social Adr is not a spam tool, it's more of a network of other users who will bookmark your sites using their accounts. There is a free option, too. Unlike software like Bookmarking Demon or Social Bot (two I own), you won't be using your own accounts to bookmark yourself.
Those accounts often get you banned from the networks if you're not careful - and if anyone finds your account, they'll be able to find your other websites, not good if you're niche marketing: why invite more competition?
SocialAdr Example of Social Bookmarking Links
SocialAdr has four levels of social bookmarking, and I'd recommend the "Lazy" accounts: premium, but not very expensive, and you do nothing more than add in your information for the community to bookmark on their accounts. I've just recently discovered it and have to say, I wish I'd found it earlier on (using the other desktop submitters, I lost certain social accounts as I should have!).
Magic Submitter
I can't really say enough about Magic Submitter! What does it "do"? It's easier to say what it doesn't do. It's an all-in-one submission tool with a monthly fee of $67, but the first month is $4.95 only.
(By the way, the links for Magic Submitter first take you to Magic Article Rewriter and Submitter - to get to Magic Submitter, if you don't want the spinner/article submitter - then exit that page and you will see the Magic Submitter page. I apologize for the inconvenience.)
So, you can submit:
Top PR Article Directories (including EzineArticles - and unlike other submitters, it WORKS to get published at EzineArticles!)

Top Video Submission Sites
Top Social Bookmarks
